In 2019, members of the CICC were invited to participate in a grant awarded from the EPA to Thompson Falls Main Street. This project was called the “Rural Economies for Rural Communities”. The grant’s purpose was to help create an asset map and guide to help Thompson Falls diversify its economy to incorporate outdoor recreation.
This project took over a year and we felt we got a great product out of it. Our role was to help discuss the role of the CICC in Thompson Falls moving forward. Things that we will be working on will be:
- Getting on a proposed “things to do” billboard in downtown Thompson Falls
- Getting our name, work, and maps out to the general public
- Growing awareness for the Cube Iron-Cataract Roadless Areas
- Working on potential projects to update signage in the CIC and around town
If you are interested in this project, the final report is included below.
