Who we are

The CICC is a local group whose mission is “Working to build awareness and support for the existing wild backcountry of the Cube Iron – Cataract area.” We support a wide variety of uses on our public lands, and we particularly recognize the value of special backcountry areas for wildlife habitat and quiet recreation. Backcountry areas provide special opportunities for activities like hiking, hunting, fishing, camping, trapping, photography, berry picking, youth outings and a variety of family adventures.

We engage in stewardship projects to maintain trails and enhance opportunities to use and enjoy the CICC area. We also support a diverse economy driven from public lands and we do not support closing any open roads or limiting timber and other extractive activities.
